Eligibility Standards

• Degree: A bachelor鈥檚 degree is required for all College of Education graduate programs. Most doctoral programs require a master鈥檚 degree.
• GPA: A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.6 on a 4.0 scale is required. Some programs prefer a GPA of 3.0.
• Test scores: The GRE is not required for any College of Education graduate program.

• Upload required materials. Most programs require transcripts, a statement of interest, r茅sum茅 or curriculum vitae, and references. A writing sample is required for doctoral programs. And programs leading to Texas Education Agency certification require  supplemental materials.
• Pay the application fee. Domestic applicants: $50. International applicants: $80. Certification and certificate programs: $25.

Admissions Timeline

• Application review: College staff audit applications for required materials and post status updates in the ApplyWeb portal. Once the deadline closes, faculty committees review all complete applications.
• Admissions decisions: Decisions are posted in ApplyWeb, typically four to six weeks after the application deadline.
• Waitlists: Applicants placed on a waitlist generally receive an update within one month of the initial notice (or late April for Ph.D. programs).
• Accepting an offer: Offer letters include a response deadline, typically about two weeks after the offer is issued. The Ph.D. acceptance deadline is April 15.
