Each year, Student Research Day highlights the curiosity, dedication and scholarly achievements of medical students as they present research projects focused on advancing scientific discovery and improving patient care. At the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine, the event gives students an opportunity to share their work while developing skills that will support them throughout their medical careers.

For more than four decades, Buck has dedicated his career to improving healthcare for underserved communities. From developing medical and dental clinics and founding Healthcare for the Homeless Houston to advancing street medicine and building programs focused on community health, his work has consistently extended beyond the walls of a traditional clinic.

As families prepare for a new school year, the UH Health Family Care Center is helping make the transition easier by bringing together school supplies, health services and community resources at its annual Back to School Block Party.
