CLASS Dean鈥檚 Summer Internship Program

Description
CLASS Dean鈥檚 Summer Internships provide students with valuable experiences working at Houston-area local government agencies and not-for-profit organizations. Participants explore career possibilities and develop marketable skills and professional networks. Each internship emphasizes different areas, providing opportunities for students from a variety of CLASS majors and with diverse future plans. This is a paid internship. Participating students receive $5,000 in recognition of their contributions to the Houston community. This will be made in two installments to the student鈥檚 UH account via the Scholarship Award Memo (SAM) process, with the second payment made after the successful completion of the internship.
Internships run from June 7 to July 30, 2027. Interns are expected to work between 20 to 40 hours per week in their agencies (with details and scheduling differing among the agencies). Participation in the program requires attendance at the mandatory orientation session, completion all required evaluations, and a commitment to the internship through the end of the placement period. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in an end-of-internship showcase highlighting their projects, experiences, and professional growth.
