Katie Merrifield was born and raised in Houston and received her Masters of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas. She has extensive clinical experience in a variety of settings including the public school system, outpatient rehabilitation, early childhood education, and in private practice. Ms. Merrifield is passionate about working with caregivers to teach them the tools to help their child communicate and to connect with them.
Ms. Merrifield is excited to return to UH as a part-time clinical educator, providing clinical feedback and mentorship to graduate student clincians. She currently supervises the hearing screening team at UH, supporting graduate students as they conduct hearing screenings at a variety of sites across Houston.
